Why choose manual lessons?

Passing your practical test in a manual car allows you to drive both manual and automatic cars.

Manual lessons teach you how to coordinate the clutch, gears and accelerator alongside observation, steering and road awareness. It can take practice to bring these skills together, and your lessons will progress at a pace suited to you.

What will you learn?

  • Using the clutch and changing gears.
  • Moving off, stopping and hill starts.
  • Approaching junctions and roundabouts.
  • Reading road signs and recognising hazards.
  • Driving on residential streets and busier roads.
  • Parking and reversing manoeuvres.
  • Independent driving and practical-test preparation.
